Big Spider – Townsville

Found this big replica of the Silver Orb Spider by accident on our search for the Big Brolga. He’s obviously a gimmick for the Museum but he’s still big, so he gets included!

Not So Big Dinosaur – Townsville

Whilst snapping away at the spider I couldn’t turn my back on getting some pics of ‘Nibbles’ the dinosaur outside the entrance to the museum, he’s rather on the small size, so I’m going to have to politely decline his access to the Big Things of Oz, Big list…sorrry!

Ahh my dislike of life-sized “big things” cows! This cow received a whopping 0/25 Stars and removal from the the Big Things of OZ, Big list!

Big T-Rex – South Brisbane

Just around from the Cicada, over at the Queensland Museum you’ll find this guy, again a little bit of a cheat as he is a museum display (a very dark path to go down to start including, Museum displays, into Big Things lists)

Big Cicada – Southbank

This Cicada sits at the end of a bus platform, in between the Cultural Centre Precinct (Museum, library, Art Gallery, Theatre) and seems definitely more on the ‘Art Sculpture’ side than the ‘Big Things’ list. I still think it’s big, so heck it’s getting included.
